The Termite control process is important when you think you might have a problem with termites in general. Inspection: The inspection pictures show us performing an exterior or interior inspection. This is the first and most important step in the termite control process. Since termite infestations can be discovered on the interior or the exterior, it is important that a thorough and complete inspection is performed. The purpose of the inspection is to identify if a termite problem exists, identify if the home has a conducive condition(s) (things that may add to the likelihood of the structure getting a termite problem), and finally identify the foundation type (the way the structure is built). All these items are necessary to set up a plan of action. Inspection Notes: The inspection notes picture show us making notes about the inspection. During an inspection, we will take a measurement of the structure, draw a graph, and make notes about the structure to show if and where a problem or condition exists. Down Drilling: The down drilling pictures show us drilling down, through a concrete slab. This can be done to slabs that abut the exterior of a structure. We also, on certain occasions, will remove floor coverings such as carpet on the interior, to dow n drill through the floor. This is done to treat interior expansion seams or cracks on the interior. By carefully perforating the concrete, we can treat underneath the surface and leave a permanent barrier against the termites. Cross Drilling: The cross drilling pictures show us drilling through the stem wall from the exterior. The cross drilling, or angle drilling, is done to inject product through the stem wall, under the interior slab to treat interior expansion seams. Treating Drill Holes/Trenches: Injecting product through the holes drilled, under the slab to establish the foundation barrier. Treating trenches to establish the same foundation barrier where soil abuts the structure. Patching Drill Holes: These pictures show us patching the drill holes with cement. All drill holes are filled with cement. Unlike many companies, Arizona’s Best Choice has several different color concretes, tile grouts, and concrete dyes on our truck. Drill holes are patched with a color similar to the color of the dilled surface. Our goal with all termite control procedures is to make the home look as close to the same as it was when we got there once the job is complete. Obviously, there are going to be drill scars in slabs. However, with our experience, carefully blended concrete colors are not nearly as noticeable. Plumbing Access: All structures have points on the interior where plumbing comes through the concrete. These plumbing entry points can also be an entry point for subterranean termites. Arizona’s Best Choice technicians cut a 4” plumbing access on the interior. This allows us to visually inspect the plumbing and treat as necessary. The plumbing access is then covered with a paintable cover that is easily removable for future inspection and monitoring.
